CALL FOR FORUM PAPERS

RCIS has become a recognized conference on research challenges in information science. Organized for the 16th time in a row, RCIS 2022 will be held from May 17-20, 2022, in Barcelona, Spain.

This year the usual RCIS Poster & Demo track is gaining momentum and evolving into a Forum track which aims to showcase new research ideas and prototypes in information science. This track provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to present their work, interact with conference participants, and obtain feedback on on-going research. We invite two types of submissions:

  • Research idea papers are intended to present new ideas, challenges, and work in progress where at least some preliminary results are available.
  • Tool demonstration papers are intended to describe tools or prototypes that are relevant for facing information science challenges.

Topics of Interest
RCIS aims to bring together scientists, researchers, engineers and practitioners from a wide range of information science fields and to provide opportunities for knowledge sharing and dissemination. RCIS 2022 will continue paying attention to traditional topics at the conference; in addition, we solicit submissions aligned to the special theme Ethics and Trustworthiness in Information Science to be in the center of its reflections and discussions. RCIS welcomes forum papers from any domain of information science. The list of interested topics includes, but is not limited to:

Submission Guidelines
Forum papers must be submitted as a single PDF file with no more than 8 pages in Springer LNCS/LNBIP format (https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines) including references and appendices. Papers that exceed the limit of 8 pages will be rejected without review. Papers that have already been accepted or are currently under review for other conferences or journals will not be considered for publication at RCIS 2022. Authors are invited to submit their paper in English to https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=rcis2022 where they should choose “Forum @RCIS 2022 Track”.
Presentation Guidelines
Research Idea Papers Tool demonstration papers

Authors of accepted research idea papers will receive an opportunity to present their paper as a poster. Authors should prepare a well-crafted poster that is self-contained. The authors are expected to be available to describe and discuss the poster with the attendees during the Forum.

Authors of accepted tool demonstration papers will have a chance to present a demo of their tool. Authors are expected to be available to demonstrate their tool/prototype during the Forum.

The poster dimensions will be of A0 type, that is 84 cm by 119 cm (33” by 47”), with poster content mounted on rectangular poster board we will provide. The layout may consist of several individual sheets of paper or a monolithic large sheet.

Authors should bring to the session all hardware they need to present the demo. Any special request should be communicated sufficiently in advance and agreed with the conference local organizing committee.

By submitting a paper to the Forum, authors implicitly agree that at least one of them will register to the conference and present their paper (i.e., at least one registration for each accepted paper is required)..
